Ron English Mural for Avant-Garde Urbano
We have had a hectic few weeks and have only just found time to start uploading some of the images we photographed while we were in the northern city of Tudela De Navarra, Spain for this year's editions of the Avant-Garde Urbano festival which began September 30th and runs until the October 27th.
Avant-Garde Urbano Festival
—
We have already shared a collection of images on our Hookedblog Facebook page (covered here) from the exhibition which will run through October 27th and features original works by French street artist C215, Cuban-American artist Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada, Ripo, Sixeart, South African street artist Faith47, Chinese street artist DalEast, Evan Roth, Filippo Minelli, SUSO33, Buenos Aires Stencil, and many others. Over the coming days, we will be sharing images of the large-scale murals that have been created around the small Spanish city from this year's festival as well as previous editions.First, up of this year's murals features the work of American artist Ron English, who worked on this large-scale fire-breathing creature on the side of an apartment block much to the delight of the children living in the building.
Building up the layers of colour over a number of days we were fortunate enough to arrive in time to see Ron at work on this wall, as many of the other invited international artists had completed their pieces by the time we hit Tudela.
Check out some of the progress images below and stay tuned as we will be sharing more from Avant-Garde Urbano in the coming days.
