NuArt: Adventure in Stavanger Part 01
Following a hectic month of work, travel, art fairs, and a dose of the flu we have finally found some time to process a selection of images from our travels to this year's NuArt Festival held in Stavanger, Norway.
Adventure in Stavanger
—
The brainchild of Martyn Reed, this annual independent street and urban art festival has been on our radar for a number of years but 2014 marked our first visit to the festival, in the city of Stavanger on the Norwegian West coast. Our journey to Nuart has been a long one, our first planned visit in 2008 unfortunately never happened as the lure of Italian food and September sunshine saw a trip to the southern Italian street art festival Fame win over that year.
In the subsequent years, the festival always seemed to clash with work or other events previously planned, so with a free weekend, it was with great excitement that I finally made it to NuArt some six years after our first planned visit.
With a strong European vibe, this years invited artists included Andreco (IT), Borondo (ES) Dotdotdot (NO), Etam Cru (PL), Biancoshock (IT), Icy & Sot (IR), John Fekner (US), Levalet (FR) M-City (PL), Martin Whatson (NO), Mathieu Tremblin (FR), SPY (ES), Strøk (NO) Tilt (FR) and ±Maismenos± (PT)
We have already shared a selection of the cities extensive street art collection across two blog posts. If you missed the posts about this street art hot spot, you can view the collection of images here and here.
Below is a selection of some of what took place at this year's edition. Stayed tuned for part 02.

Martin Whatson's collaboration with BON and Alex Face who also happened to be in town for the duration of the festival created this work on the side of Stavanger’s Scandic Hotel, the official Nuart Festival Hotel where many of the artists and invited guests stayed during their visit.
