Italian street artist RUN's New Street Art Book
We stopped by Jealous East Gallery to catch up with Italian-born London-based artist Giacomo Bufarini aka Run. An internationally renowned street artist, Bufarini has been a regular on the site over the years with his beautiful street art and mural works adorned across walls from London to Marrakech and beyond.
New Street Art Book
Our visit saw the artist at work setting up for his 4-day pop-up solo exhibition at Jealous East gallery which will feature a collection of brand new screen printed editions and original works.
Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, the exhibition at Jealous East will also celebrate the official London launch of the artist's highly anticipated street art publication 'Time Traveller Artist Man’ published by Unicorn Press.
Pictured above is the new book by artist RUN.
The Time Traveller Artist Man book has been in the works for three years and documents the artist's tools, his studio, sketchbooks, photographs, paintings, stories, and prints, as well as his murals and international projects. Bufarini has enlisted author and designer Tristan Manco to write the introduction to the book, a small extract of which is below:
“Part travelling diary, part monograph, Time Traveller Artist Man charts the triumphs and tribulations of an imaginative soul with a passion for travel, whose worldwide voyages have become a catalyst to create art that is elemental and playful, with the ultimate goal of engaging with people from all walks of life” — Tristan Manco
A collection of RUN's brushes, tools and other objects from his studio will be on display at the gallery for the official book launch of Time Traveller Artist Man.
The original artwork Bufarini painted directly onto the cover of an old book about Michelangelo which went on to become the image cover used for his book 'Time Traveller Artist Man'.
