London Graffiti Artist Mr Cenz futuristic Mural
As the UK Government has been slowly easing the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, London street art and graffiti artists have begun to emerge from their studios and homes and have returned to the city streets.
Shoreditch Street Art
The streets of Shoreditch and Brick Lane have been abuzz with street and graffiti artists installing and painting new street art, murals, and graffiti artworks. We have already shared the new murals from French Street artist Nerone in Chance Street, the short-lived mural in Allens Gardens by Pad303 which only lasted 24 hours before getting painted over, and one of the three new murals painted by Dan Kitchener in East London.
The semi-legal graffiti walls that run along the edge of Allens Gardens in Brick Lane have been changing at a rapid pace with new mostly graffiti letter pieces going up on the walls on an almost daily basis.
Another new mural to the neighborhood was painted earlier this month by South London-based graffiti artist Mr. Cenz (aka Julian Phetean). The artist has a distinct style that is instantly recognizable and earlier this month we saw him return to East London’s Bacon Street to paint one of his vibrant futuristic female portraits.
We caught up with Mr.Cenz on a sunny afternoon while he was working on his latest mural in East London. The artist was more than halfway through the piece when we made it over to the wall on Bacon Street and he made quick progress on the wall finishing the new portrait later that evening.
Mr.Cenz's Bacon Street mural brings the artists' mural count in Shoreditch up to three with this new work joining two other murals in the neighborhood.
One mural is located on King John Court and is a collaborative work this is part of a larger wall that features several artists who all work on the wall under the theme of connectivity matter, for a project with Global Street Art. The artists' other murals can be found on Fashion Street just off Brick Lane, London.
Mr.Cenz Fashion Street Murals
A short ten-minute walk down Brick Lane and you can find one of Mr.Cenz's long-standing murals on the wall halfway down Fashion Street, just off Brick Lane, London.
Mr.Cenz has held the spot for many years now having painted four different murals over the years on this wall, often returning to repaint something new and freshening up the wall as other pieces have faded or the artist feels they have run their course and wants to change it up.
We were not the only photographers at the wall taking photographs, and we were joined by Dean from the NotBanksyForum who was also taking pictures, and Louis who was capturing video content for a short film he was filming for Mr. Cenz.
Mr.Cenz added the last touches to his Bacon Street Mural.
We also shot a few video frames and put together a short clip below while we were watching Mr. Cenz working on his latest mural. Take a look below and if you are not already doing so why not hit the subscribe button to our Hookedblog Youtube Channel.
